Wolves transfer news: Deadline Day double signing as Adam Armstrong and Angel Gomes complete moves to Molineux

Wolves have completed a Deadline Day double signing with striker Adam Armstrong and midfielder Angel Gomes moving to Molineux.

, Wolves have boosted their forward line with the capture of Armstrong from Southampton.

Your Site News understand the deal is worth £7m plus £2m in potential add-ons for the 28-year-old, who has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Armstrong moves to Wolves after scoring 11 Championship goals this season.

On signing for Wolves, Armstrong said: "I'm honoured. I've played against the gaffer's teams before and I know how he works. It's such a hardworking, honest group, and I think you've seen that in recent games. I'm excited to become a part of the project and we'll see what happens moving forward. All I can say to the fans is they're going to get 100 per cent from me every time I wear the shirt, which is the main thing."

Wolves boss Rob Edwards said: "Adam's really excited to be here. He's a competitor and he's got something about him that we need now. He was really keen to come and join Wolves, and wants to play for Wolves, so it's a really good day for the club getting him in.

"He's someone I've admired for a long, long time. He's a really good footballer, a goal threat and a goal scorer. He's someone who can play off the sides if we wanted him to, he'll see himself as a nine and as a goal scorer, but he's more than that.

"We were only going to bring people in if we felt they could really affect the group in a positive way, not just on the pitch, but around the whole place as well. Hopefully everyone really gets behind him and shows him that love really early on."

Meanwhile, Gomes joins Wolves from Marseille on loan until the end of the season, with the deal including an option to buy.

The England international came through Man Utd's academy before leaving Old Trafford for Lille in 2020.

He went on to join Marseille on a free transfer last summer but has played just eight minutes in Ligue 1 since December.

On the signing of Gomes, Edwards added: "I'm delighted, really excited. I've got a really good relationship with Angel - we go back quite a long way now. At the FA we got on really, really well. I thought he was a brilliant, technical player, and he's got a great brain. He gives us real quality in that midfield area and it's a really exciting signing for the football club.

Earlier on Deadline Day, Crystal Palace completed the club-record £48m signing of Strand Larsen from Wolves.

Palace paid a fixed fee of £43m for the striker plus £5m in potential add-ons.

Strand Larsen leaves the Premier League's bottom club Wolves after 18 months. He scored 14 Premier League goals last season as Wolves stayed in the Premier League under Vitor Pereira, but has managed just one this term.
