Merson: Arsenal don't trust Gyokeres at the moment
Paul Merson speaking on Premier League Friday about Viktor Gyokeres at Arsenal:
"His confidence is low at the moment but I dont think they trust him at the moment. I dont think its sticking with him. I watch a lot of Arsenal and he shows, but they just dont give it to him.
"He did alright at Leeds last week, he held the line well and missed a chance that he took too long on. But that was his best game I saw him play, the other one that stands out is Burnley away. No disrespect to Leeds and Burnley, one is fifth-bottom, one is second-bottom. He needs more than that.
"He does show, he makes good runs down the channel. Sometimes just put it down there for him, he may win a throw-in and that could give him a bit of confidence.
"He touched the ball once in the first 25 minutes against Chelsea. Im 57 and Im touching the ball more than once.
"I watched a lot of Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea and he wasnt looking for it. The ball would be down the left hand side and he would drift down the right, and wasnt looking to show.
"This lad does come up and show up. Hes not hiding away. But just get him into the game, feed him the ball and give him a little bit of confidence.
"If every professional footballer could do one thing, theyd bottle up their confidence. If you have confidence, its a completely different game. If hes not touching the ball, and the way the game is now with stats, stats, stats, you need to keep on giving him a couple of touches and feed him the ball.
"Hes top scorer, but hes one ahead of own goals. I hope he does well. Hes a hard-working, he doesnt down tools but I hope they trust him a lot more."

Ronaldo returned to training with his Al Nassr team-mates this week - but was not in the matchday squad for Friday's fixture.
The Portuguese forward continuing his one-man protest comes after news Saudi Arabian football officials are losing patience with the 41-year-old.
Officials hoped Ronaldo made his has made his point by missing Al Nassr's game against Al Riyadh on Monday and Friday's game will be too big for him to miss, and urged him to return to the pitch.
