NFL Paris 2026: New Orleans Saints to play at Stade de France in first-ever game in Paris

The NFL has announced it will play its first-ever regular-season game in Paris, France during the 2026 season.

The New Orleans Saints will feature as part of the league's historic debut at the iconic Stade de France, which becomes the latest addition to a growing list of international hosts.

Paris joins Madrid, Munich, Rio De Janeiro, Melbourne and London as part of a blockbuster international slate for 2026, underlining the league's commitment to growth overseas.

"Bringing a regular season game to Paris in 2026 marks an exciting next step in the continued expansion of the league's global footprint," said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

"Paris is one of the world's greatest sporting and cultural cities with tremendous success in hosting global events that unite fans on the biggest stages.

"Playing our first‑ever regular season game at the impressive Stade de France, together with the New Orleans Saints, underlines our continued global growth ambitions and we look forward to bringing the NFL to our passionate fans in France."

The news arrived hours after the NFL confirmed it will be returning to Madrid this season after making its first appearance in Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu last November.

New Orleans represent something of a natural choice for Paris' NFL debut such is Louisiana's ties to France.

"We are excited to be selected to play in the first regular season game to be held in France," said Saints owner Gayle Benson.

"This moment is special not only because of the strong cultural connection between Louisiana and France, but also because we will compete before a growing Saints fan base in Paris.

"I am grateful to the NFL, commissioner Roger Goodell and the French government, especially Laurent Bili, ambassador of France to the United States, Samuel Ducroquet, ambassador of France to Sport, for helping make this historic event possible."

The Stade de France is France's national stadium and has previously played stage to the FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup, UEFA Champions Leage Finals, UEFA European Championship Finals and the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Watch the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday February 8, with coverage under way at 10pm live on Sky Spots NFL ahead of kick-off at approximately 11.30pm.
